Laura Shepherd (Email) Laura Shepherd, has been teaching drama and music classes and camps as well as Music Directing and Directing for Studio East since 2001, and is also the Studio's Education Director. Past Directing and Music Directing credits at Studio East include The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up, Stuart Little, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Jungle Book, Aladdin, and Mulan Jr., Studio East ArtReach! productions of The Emperor's New Clothes, Honk! Jr., Snow White in the Black Forest, Trouble in Storybook Land, We're Having a Ball!, Peter Pan in Neverland and Off to See the Wizard, as well as mainstage productions of Oklahoma! and Into the Woods at Youth Theatre Northwest. Laura enjoys teaching the group singing classes at Studio East, as well as taking on private voice students. You may have seen her onstage with StoryBook Theater, in the Studio's Twas the Night. or at the KPC in Fiddler on the Roof. You can also hear Laura sing in the Seattle-based jazz choir, BlueStreet Voices. Laura is a Washington State certified teacher, and received her training and degrees in Music Education and Theatre from Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music in Ohio. She's thrilled to continue her Master's Degree program in Educational Theater this summer through NYU.
