Young Actors Professional Intensive
"YAPI 2010"

If you are interested in a summer full of theater classes, intense learning and a lot of fun, call the Studio to set up a YAPI audition/interview. Students spend six weeks immersed in college-level theater classes including Audition Technique, Acting for the Camera, Scene Study, Shakespeare, Combat, Improvisation, Musical Theater, The Business and more. A showcase is presented for an invited audience on the final weekend.

Faculty is made up of professional educators and artists including:
      Bill Watson: Head of Theater, University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee/Director/Actor
      Faith Russell: Seattle Actress/Director/Teacher
      Allan Batchelder: Seattle Actor/Comedian/Teacher/Director
      Joan Newlin: Tap Master/Film/TV/Choreographer
      Lani Brockman: Artistic Director/Director/Teacher
      David Duvall: Musical Director/Award Winning Writer/Teacher/Pianist
      Amanda Thomas: Choreographer/Teacher/Dancer

    Spaces are very limited and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. so... AUDITION EARLY! (Returning students do not need to re-audition. Call 425-820-1800 to reserve your space ASAP.)

    Auditions: January 8, February 5, March 26, April 16, May 14 Spaces are filled on a first-come-first-served basis.
    • Auditions are 20 minutes in length.
    • Returning students do not need to re-audition – call ASAP to ensure a space (once we fill, we stop auditioning).
    Prepare: Prepare: A contemporary monologue one minute in length and an interview.
    Please bring a picture/resume
    Enrollment: Up to 36 students, ages 13 to 19
    Dates: July 5 - August 14
    Times: 9am until 5pm, Monday - Friday
    Showcase: Friday and Saturday, August 13 and 14
    Class Fee: $1,250
    New York Trip:

    NEW YORK TOUR: Following YAPI, students may opt to travel to New York for a 6 day theater tour. The New York trip fee includes airfare, hotel and at least five shows. Last year students saw Next to Normal , Billy Elliott, In the Heights, 39 Steps, West Side Story, and 9 to 5.
